This is from the Walking and Mapping Workshop and Performance I led on the island of Eigg in Scotland. It was developed within of the broader context of the Body/Landscape Workshop.
I instructed the participants to place pen on paper and walk, following the path with as little concern for the marks being made as possible. One person knew the destination and led the group of 16.
An example of the score can be seen below.
This method captures bodies moving through space in a way that is not representative, but an echo of the action.
These scores were then used to devise the physical responses shown in this video.
